A Glimpse
I look into your eyes
And I follow your soul.
It takes me to a place
Where I feel safe and whole.
The place is your heart,
So warm and sincere.
There's a sign hanging on it,
"Always open,my dear."
So I step in further
To enjoy the view
Of this beautiful paradise
That is part of you.
There's a stream running through it
'Full and flowing with love.
I want to run and jump right in
'For I don't need a shove.
The current,it caresses me.
It gives me a great sensation.
I could easily drown in this pool of bliss
Without any hesitation.
As I look above me,
I notice a bending tree.
The long finger-like branches
Are reaching out to me.
I grab ahold of it
And pull myself in.
The wood feels strangely soft.
It's almost like skin.
"I grow in the soil of compassion."
The tree then tried to explain."
It's what makes me strong inside
And,yet,gives me my fleshy grain.
"The stream that you swam in,lady,
Was created by silent tears
Wept by a man in search of a love
He's needed all these years."
"Could I be that love, the one that he needs?"
I anxiously asked of the tree.
"Who knows, maybe next time, when you return
Your initials are carved on me."
